PetDocks Veterinary Hospital, located in the stunning Crystal Coast of Morehead City, NC, is seeking an experienced Medical Director to lead our team. This role is perfect for a seasoned veterinarian who thrives in surgery and enjoys mentoring the next generation of veterinarians.

About the Position: As Medical Director, you will be responsible for overseeing our diverse caseload, which includes ER surgeries, foreign bodies, splenectomies, bloats, mass removals, cystotomies, Perineal Urethrostomies, diabetic patients, and blocked pets. Experience with exotics is a plus but not required. You’ll also provide mentorship and guidance to two newly graduated doctors, offering assistance in surgery, medical decision-making, and controlled substances protocols.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the medical team and contribute to clinic policy development.
• Mentor two new veterinarians, supporting them in surgical cases and medical protocols.
• Ensure the highest standard of care for patients and excellent service for clients.
• Oversee and enhance medical protocols, ensuring continuous improvement.
• Have a working knowledge of financial aspects (expertise not required)—you will be supported by our operational team to improve the hospital’s financial health!
• Foster a collaborative and educational work environment.
