We are seeking an experienced Staff Veterinarian (All experience levels)for our Veterinary Services Teams at our site in Mattawan, Michigan.
The Staff Veterinarian position is responsible for providing consultation, oversight, and direct support of veterinary care activities for all animals used at Charles River. Assisting the Attending Veterinarian and IACUC to ensure compliance with animal welfare standards and regulations by AAALAC, Int., USDA, and PHSOLAW; and supporting the evaluation of test article effects by performing examinations and making assessments to interpret study effects on animals.

About Safety Assessment Charles River is committed to helping our partners expedite their preclinical drug development with exceptional safety assessment services, state-of-the-art facilities and expert regulatory guidance. From individual specialty toxicology and IND enabling studies to tailored packages and total laboratory support, our deeply experienced team can design and execute programs that anticipate challenges and avoid roadblocks for a smooth, efficient journey to market. Each year approximately 120 investigational new drug (IND) programs are conducted in our Safety Assessment facilities.

Qualifications for the positions include, but are not limited to:
DVM or equivalent degree obtained from an AVMA accredited institution with 1+ years of relevant experience. · Licensure to practice veterinary medicine in at least one state, preferred. · USDA accreditation, preferred. · Basic familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite. · Computer skills, commensurate with Essential Functions and including ability to learn a validated system. · Ability to work extended hours beyond normal work schedule to include, but not limited to, evenings, weekends, extended shifts and/or extra shifts, sometimes on short notice. · Ability to work under specific time constraints.
