New England Animal Medical Center (NEAMC) is looking to add an ER/ICU service lead veterinarian to our emergency and critical care department in West Bridgewater, MA. This ER/ICU leader will collaborate with board-certified specialists in Critical Care and Surgery along with consulting Cardiologists.
Responsibilities
This leadership role will work closely with the Medical Director and Hospital Director. Responsibilities will include planning, directing, training and coordinating medical leadership and oversight for all NEAMC Staff ER and ICU doctors (including per diem staff). The service lead acts as an exemplary ER doctor and serves as primary contact for all operating matters of the ER and ICU department. In partnership with the Medical Director and Hospital Administrator, the ER/ICU Service Lead will stay abreast of hospital-wide needs, concerns, and environment—proactively identifying conflict and helping to foster a positive team culture.
The schedule will include a variety of shifts to ensure patient care initiatives are upheld and the team is supported. This role is responsible for day-to-day workflow including, but not limited to: ER doctor scheduling, recruiting, hiring, onboarding and training; facilitating regular department meetings; and providing mentorship and oversight to both doctors and support staff. The Service Lead strives to maintain a positive attitude, positive work habits and build strong collaborative relationships within the department and with external services and referring veterinarians.
Experience
Preferred experience would include overseeing a clinical team in a leadership position with two or more years of experience in that leadership role. As well as 5+ years of experience in Emergency and Critical Care medicine.
