I get it--all of the job descriptions look the same. What makes us any different? For starters, Suffolk has a great, low cost of living which means it is much easier to pay back your student loans and your money goes a lot further. You like the city? The country? A bit of both? We have all of that! Are you looking for regular day practice? Shelter medicine? Exotics? Alternative medicine? We got ya! Are you interested in after-hours and emergency work? Sorry, keep that search scrolling because we want a life! Any desire to own a practice down the line and be able to call the shots? Great! We've done Evil Corporate before and know all of the lies and traps they try to use to lure you in as well. Doing interviews out there and looking for mentorship? Ask to see an actual written phase training plan that already physically exists designed to ease you into your first job as a veterinarian. I bet most others can't produce it!
Let me tell you a little bit about us as a clinic and what it is we are looking for. Suffolk Animal Hospital is looking for an easy-going yet driven Associate Veterinarian that wants to make a difference in their community. We desire a full-time Veterinarian looking to care not only for pets but also their owners. The City of Suffolk continues to grow, and we have along with it. Our close knit, well-trained team is in search of a 4th Veterinarian to lead and help them excel as employees. Our practice is in the unique situation of being able to fulfill the needs of a variety of clients as well as a variety of pets. We offer full service boarding, grooming and veterinary care to both cats and dogs, but we would love to add on exotic services if you desire. We work closely with both the local shelters and rescues to provide necessary, lifesaving services, as well as servicing our own clientele while upholding AAHA’s standards of excellence. Our clinic excels in versatility, adaptability and willingness to go the extra mile. We look for innovative solutions to client restrictions such as being the only clinic in Suffolk to offer Wellness Plans.
The local community holds our clinic in high regard as we were voted “Local’s Choice- Best Veterinarian/Animal Hospital” for the last few years as well as being a "Neighborhood Favorite" on Nextdoor. We are seeking a 4th veterinarian that is able to meet and exceed this precedence. While we offer a non-corporate setting, competitive pay, company matched retirement, medical and membership benefits for our full-time associates, NO after-hours/emergency work requirement and possess an extensive network of up-to-date diagnostic equipment at your disposal, what we really have to offer is camaraderie, a challenging field of work and a support system you can rely on. Work-life balance is critical to us and we go out of our way for our employees to feel appreciated and rested. We enjoy doing staff outings including everything from baseball & hockey games to mud runs and wine & paint nights. We invite you to come experience our clinic-- shadow our primary veterinarian, Dr. Amber Carr, or allow us to pay you for your services as a relief veterinarian so that you can see what Suffolk Animal Hospital and our clinic culture is all about. We are patiently looking to find a Veterinarian that is not just available right now, but will be the right fit long-term. As this is a privately owned practice, ownership buy-in would also be available down the line. If this sounds appealing to you, you can reach out to us for more details at (757) 539-1385 or visit our website at www.suffolkanimalhospital.com
