Cape Fear Animal Hospital is the oldest continuously operated animal hospital in Fayetteville, North Carolina. Located in the eastern portion of the state, Fayetteville is centrally located between the Appalachian Mountains and the beautiful Crystal Coast with its many beaches and attractions.

Cape Fear Animal Hospital has been providing comprehensive veterinary medical, surgical, and dental care to the Fayetteville area since 1946. Our multi doctor practice enjoys the support of a well-trained and highly utilized technical support staff along with high quality diagnostic, treatment, and surgical equipment, allowing you to practice in an encouraging, supportive environment. In order to provide our gold standard quality of medicine, we are equipped with a full array of diagnostic tools and services including:

• Digital Full body and dental Radiography

• Companion Therapy Laser
• Surgery prep room and surgery suite
• Dental suite for dental prophylaxis and dental surgeries
• Comprehensive in-house laboratory with both Abaxis and Idexx allows the ability to process up to 5 chemistries at the same time

The Associate Veterinarian (ADVM) is responsible for medical and surgical care of patients in the exam room and in the hospital.  This includes maintaining client relationships and effectively communicating the care needs and condition of their pet.  Medical records are maintained in an accurate and legible manner and estimates are presented to clients in advance of care, as appropriate. 

Skills and Qualifications:

• Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree, or equivalent, from an accredited university
• Licensure in good standing to practice in the state of North Carolina
• Commitment to practicing the highest standard of medicine and upholding the veterinary code of ethics
• Strong interpersonal skills including excellent verbal and written communication, ability to be empathetic and compassionate, and outstanding collaboration with other members of the SWAC family
• Solid ability to think rationally and logically; able to make quick, decisive decisions
