Medical Director Veterinarian - Portland, OR

The Cat Hospital of Portland is an exclusively feline legacy hospital that has been a staple in the Sellwood neighborhood in southeast Portland, Oregon, established in 2004. After 16+ years in the community, we are at the beginning of a transition to a new business model of accepting canine patients to complement our feline patient base. As we embark on the journey, we begin our search for a dynamic Medical Director.

Our entire philosophy of practice is centric to the importance of cultivating and nurturing trusted relationships with our clients. This is most valuable asset gives us the foundation to practice the best possible veterinary medicine. Every aspect of our clinic was designed with a calm, serine and patient friendly environment. Our goal to decrease stress and offer a slower approach for our patients and clients is the foundation of our best possible veterinary experience.  We are now extending that spa environment to our canine friends as well.

Ideal Medical Director

• Demonstrated leadership skill set and desire for leading a team
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Entrepreneurial spirit and intrinsically motivated self-starter
• Fiscally motivated to grow business from current base to exceed double digits growth goals on an annual basis.
• Ability to mentor and coach associate veterinarians
• The highest quality medical standards
• Ability, desire and forethought to design and consistently enhance standards of care
• All other MD job description requirements
• 2+ years experience preferred
